SUMMARY :

Located in the west of Dubai, Jebel Ali Free Zone is the oldest in the UAE, having been established in 1985. It is also one of the most popular – and is open to a broad array of businesses. The free zone caters to three main areas of activity: Trading, Service and Industrial – it also issues e-commerce licences. This includes businesses in the fields of agriculture, advertising and finance through to manufacturing, ship building and waste management.

JAFZA is open to Free Zone Companies, Free Zone Establishments, PLCs and branches of existing businesses. It also allows for between 7 and 12 business activities under one trading licence. Today, the free zone is home to over 7,000 businesses from more than 100 countries – amounting to an estimated 130,000 workers and bringing in over 20% of the UAE’s foreign direct investment.

The free zone is directly linked to the most developed port in the region – which coupled with Jebel Ali’s warehouse facilities make it the ideal place to set up for import and export businesses. Plus, both Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai International Airport are only a 20-minute and 40-minute drive away respectively.
