SUMMARY :
Dubai Marine City Authority was set up to provide an attractive investment environment to attract marine industry leaders from around the world and establish Dubai as a maritime hub. The 2.3 million square metre site is divided into six zones: The Maritime Centre, the Industrial Precinct, The Academic Quarter, the Marina District, the Harbour Residence, and the Harbour Offices. The Maritime Centre District is the free zone’s centre piece comprising eight waterfront developments and three in-land premises centred around a vast boulevard, home to hotels, restaurants and apartments.
The Industrial precinct is a hub for ship repair and yacht manufacture. It features numerous workshop units and 42 dry docks of various sizes. The Academic Quarter is home to the free zone’s academy which has the capability to provide for 1,300 students and runs programmes in marine engineering, marine transportation, and naval science, among others. The Marina District is a mixed-use area featuring hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, entertainment facilities and more. As their names suggest, the Harbour Residence and Harbour Offices are home to residential and office develops respectively.
Naturally, Dubai Maritime City Authority is ideally located for businesses in marine and marine-related activities. The free zone is near the creek area business district – between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks. It also benefits from a comprehensive road infrastructure. The nearby E11 puts Downtown Dubai and Dubai International Airport within easy reach.
