SUMMARY :
FTZ No. 9 consists of several sites spread throughout the islands that make up the State of Hawaii. The sites are located in Honolulu, Campbell Industrial Park and Mililani Tech Park on Oahu; Kahului and Kihei on the island of Maui; and NELHA and Hilo on the largest island, Hawaii. The foreign trade zone has been trading for over 50 years and has handled nearly $60 billion worth of merchandise in that time.
The centerpiece of FTZ No. 9 is its 500,000 cubic ft. warehouse in Honolulu. The site which is particularly popular with small and medium manufacturers, import / export businesses and companies that need space to kit or relabel products is adjacent to one of Hawaii’s main container cargo terminals and within minutes of the state’s downtown business district.
In addition to warehousing, FTZ No. 9 also comprises numerous office and industrial units for businesses within import / export and related industries. One of the main reasons for the FTZs popularity is its easy setup process – there are no formal applications to submit or contracts to sign.
The foreign trade zone is also home to the International Trade Resource Center which features 40 ready-made offices, incubator space and a state of the art conference centre.
